Family Statement

Created by Asif 16 years ago
It is with the greatest of sadness that we have prepared this statement to inform friends and family of the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident which recently took the life of Tirumal Parvataneni and injured his wife, Latha. Latha & Tirumal were planning to spend their weekend in Germany with friends and family. They had left the UK at around 1pm on Friday, 22nd June 2007. After arriving in France, they drove across Belgium and into Germany, eventually joining the B410. The accident took place at around 8.37pm local time between Budesheim and Gerolstein. Tirumal died instantly at the scene and Latha was taken by ambulance to hospital, having sustained injuries. The German police contacted Ranjith (Latha’s brother) at his hotel nearby and he went immediately to the hospital where Latha was receiving emergency treatment. Latha will be returning to the UK in the next few days accompanied by her mother. She will continue to receive treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. For the moment, we would ask that people do not phone or visit us as we need to concentrate on helping Latha and her two sons to come to terms with their tragic loss. Although the family is deeply grateful for the expressions of sympathy and positive thoughts from so many people, in line with Tirumal's and Latha's wishes, there will be a small, private funeral service which will be attended by only their immediate family and closest friends. As is customary, there will be a memorial service to celebrate Tirumal's life in December 2007. The family would greatly appreciate your support and attendance at that time. Further details will be made available in due course. Please support us by honouring their wishes and offering your prayers for Tirumal’s soul, for Latha’s recovery and for God’s blessing on their sons Jahnu and Sanju. If you would like to share your memories and any pictures of Tirumal, or just to send a message of condolence, please use this Tribute Website This has been created in order to give a lasting memory of Tirumal for his two young sons, so that they can know how many people’s lives were touched and made better because of him. Thank you for your good wishes and compassion at this very difficult time. 25th June 2007.
